Welcome to The Sunshine Club

The Sunshine Club is an intimate preschool that offers educational programmes designed to take the individual child's needs into consideration. Our younger age groups experience responsive and flexible routines, and we gradually add more structure to the older groups in order to prepare them for big school.

Your child's naturally inquisitive mind will be stimulated by learning experiences, inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning. This looks like children actively participating in constructing their knowledge and educators being finely tuned to the children's interests and individual needs.

We cater for children from the ages of 16 months to 5 years (grade 00) and are open from Monday to Friday. We aim to keep our school small, creating an intimate space for creativity, play and learning that feels like a second home for your little ones.

So much more to explore

At the Sunshine Club, we offer services that go beyond just pre-school. We want to create a fun and stimulating environment for aftercare, our holiday club, educational structured play sessions and even a birthday party venue for a stress free, no mess, party.

Aftercare

We offer aftercare to our Sunshine Club preschool kids from Monday to Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. If your children still need to nap, we have comfortable mats and a quiet room for them to sleep.
The children at aftercare will enjoy free play outside on our jungle gym as well as some unstructured art activities and free expression.

What is the Reggio Emilio Approach?

The Reggio Emilia approach is a student-centered teaching philosophy.

At the Sunshine Club, we incorporate the Reggio Emilia approach in the following ways:

  • 100 languages: The Reggio approach acknowledges that children learn in many ways. We encourage different learning methods by offering multiple opportunities for children to show what they know.

  • Environment as the third teacher: We have intentionally set up our space so that all children can learn. Every day we set up new and exciting learning provocations for them to explore and learn.

  • Children learn their place in the world through interactions: We encourage social collaboration and group work. We also learn incidentally as far as possible to make learning fun.

  • Family as partners: We value the relationship with our little ones' parents and encourage active involvement as they bridge the gap between school and home.
